Meet Melissa, a talented tattoo artist based in Oakland, California. She has been tattooing in the Bay Area for over 16 years. Melissa loves to create classically inspired, bold tattoos that range from the whimsical to the macabre. Melissa's background in the veterinary medical field and love of nature often shine through in her illustrative work. Her inspiration can range from art history, to her collection of rare carnivorous plants, historical photographs and vintage illustrations as well as traditional American, British and Japanese tattoo designs. From intricate floral designs to animal portraits, she's always up for any unique challenge your heart desires.

 

In her time outside of the tattoo studio, Melissa loves spending time with her 2 cats Nandor and Guillermo, and you’ll often find her exploring the local hiking trails and beaches with her dog Loretta Lynn. Melissa enjoys live music ranging from punk, metal and dark wave to county and hip hop and can often be found listening to her favorite bands and exploring the local music scene with friends.
